Man Utd player ratings vs Everton: Van de Beek flops as Cavani sends United into semis

Donny van de Beek – 5

Van de Beek didn’t make the best of his rare opportunity to start a match.

Subbed just after the hour mark after failing to make a real impact on the game.

Bruno Fernandes – 7

Nearly everything good from United went through Fernandes in the first half. He will be disappointed after fluffing his lines in trying to set up Cavani in the third minute.

Tailed off in the second half as the number of minutes he has played of late started to catch up with him.

Mason Greenwood – 6

Greenwood went close with a fine header in the first half. Some nice touches from the England international and looked a threat at times. Subbed.

Edinson Cavani – 8

Cavani worked hard and was constantly giving the Everton defenders something to think about. It didn’t fall for the former PSG star in the first half but he came up with the goods eventually.

He latched onto Anthony Martial’s pass, before cutting onto his weaker left foot and firing in the winner in the 88th minute.

Cavani was lucky there was no VAR, after an earlier incident with Yerry Mina where he appeared to grab the Everton defender’s throat.
