Jennifer Lopez contemplates not getting married to Alex Rodriguez after cancelling June wedding

Jennifer Lopez has remained tight-lipped about her wedding plans with fiancé Alex Rodriguez.

But the two-time Grammy nominee’s nuptials appear to have hit a snag, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She recently revealed that she and the retired MLB pro are contemplating not getting married at all, after canceling their June wedding, which was planned for Italy.

The 51-year-old discussed it Monday on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show Radio Andy, as he suggested a comparison to Kurt Russell, 69, and Goldie Hawn, 75, who have been happily partnered since 1983, but have never gotten married. 

She responded: ‘Oh yeah, we’ve talked about that for sure. I mean at our age, we’ve both been married before, it’s like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us? And it’s just, it comes down to like personal, like, what do you want to do?’

J.Lo also finally shed some light on their secretive wedding plans, which was meant to have already happened.

She said: ‘There’s definitely no rush though. It was really sad because we were supposed to get married in June and we had planned it all. So in March or April, we’re looking down the pipe and we’re going, ‘This is maybe not going to happen.’ 

‘Italy’s the worst place in the world. And we were going to get married in Italy. I was like, ‘Okay, we got to cancel everything.’ And we had to put out all this money and all this stuff, we were like, ‘We gotta cancel it.’ So we, we canceled it. 

‘And then we try to regroup for later in the year, a few months ago. And I was like, ‘Nope, still not the right time.’ So it was just a little disappointing. And then you just think to yourself, well, things will happen in their divine time in a way.’  

The Hustlers actress added: ‘But the same thing with like the Goldie thing and Kurt, you think, do you have to? Should we? It just kind of gave us a moment to pause and think about it. And I think it’s something that maybe is still important to us, but there’s no rush, you know, there’s no rush it’ll happen when it happens.’

She and Rodriguez, 45, have been together since February of 2017, and they announced their engagement last March.

Lopez shares twins, son Maximilian and daughter Emme, 12, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, 52, while A-Rod coparents his daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, 47. 

She recently shut down speculation that she and A-Rod have already married or are preparing to elope, thanks to her upcoming films Marry Me and Shotgun Wedding.

The Jenny from the Block artist told ET Online: ‘It’s funny because life does reflect into things you are doing at times. But it’s just kind of a coincidence because when I did El Anillo, the song in Spanish, which is, ‘When are you going to give me a ring?,’ I was not really trying to send a message. 

‘It was just a song that we wrote that we liked and with Marry Me, it was something we were developing for, I would say, seven years. All of that stuff and it was happening now where Alex and I are engaged and about to get married at some point. It just happens that way. It’s a funny thing, life and art, they kind of intersect.’
