Google Maps Street View: Google blurs out 'improper' girl on bike in crude blunder

Google Maps Street View snaps folk up to all sorts of activities the world over. Sometimes they are involved in genuinely bizarre or shocking activities. However, in one photo, Google appears to have gone to rather drastic lengths over a seemingly innocuous bike ride.

This is because Street View has decided to blur out the middle of her body.

Her right thigh and left forearm are fuzzy as Street View, it would seem, aimed to blur out her nether regions.

In between her legs appears to be a black object.

To some, this might well look crude.

DON’T MISS

It would seem Google thought so, hence the blurring out.

However, apparently, Street View was too rigorous with its privacy setting.

Rather than anything inappropriate, the black object is most likely the bike seat.

Reddit users were quick to comment on the photo and Street View’s decision.

“Improper helmet use,” one posted.

“That’s what caught my eye at first, too,” a second said.

Regarding blurring, Google states online: “Google takes a number of steps to protect the privacy of individuals when Street View imagery is published to Google Maps.

“We have developed cutting-edge face and license plate blurring technology that is designed to blur identifiable faces and license plates within Google-contributed imagery in Street View.”
