Primark is the latest to enter the race to buy brands left behind by the collapse of Arcadia. 

Its owner, FTSE100 company AB Foods, is considering a bid for Arcadia’s brands and stores ahead of the Friday deadline set by administrators, The Sunday Times reported.

House of Fraser owner Mike Ashley is interested in all of Arcadia’s brands and is close to finalising a deal with Debenhams. 

He will face competition from Authentic Brands, a US giant looking to expand into the UK, which has also been linked with a move for Arcadia.
