Some social media users were less than impressed with Piers’ mistake, after he spent the last year reporting on the pandemic and hitting out at so-called “covidiots” on GMB.
One fan tweeted: “All the stuff you go on about COVID 19 calling everyone idiots and all the bad news you constantly report and you don’t even wear a mask.”
Another added: “Surely an apology of your reckless behaviour should be made on GMB at the earliest opportunity….. and then banned for 6 months.”
However, others defended Piers over his error, with one saying: “Give him a break. We’ve all forgotten sometimes. That’s totally different from completely breaking the rules and going to house parties etc.”
A second fan commented: “Everyone forgets at some point. I challenge every single person to say hand on heart that at some point they haven’t said ‘oh my mask!’ Stop being ridiculous people!”
