Gary Neville has urged Manchester United to let Paul Pogba leave the club and also to never sign another player under his agent Mino Raiola.

According to Raiola, Pogba is unhappy at Old Trafford and wishes to leave the club with his agent adding that United should consider offloading him or face the prospect of losing him on a free transfer.

Since the comments Pogba has come off the bench in United’s Champions League exit to RB Leipzig and started in their 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.

After the Manchester derby, Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards said that Pogba wasn’t ‘feeling the love’ at the club and that the team should have been built around the Frenchman.

He said that Pogba’s performances hadn’t been the best but that this hadn’t been helped with ‘negative stories’ and been ‘let down by the backroom staff’.

Former United star Neville responded: ‘The biggest players will get the biggest criticism. David De Gea has been absolutely battered in this last two or three years and I criticised him when he first came to the club when he was massively under scrutiny.

‘Mason Greenwood has been hammered in the last four or five months, Harry Maguire been criticised for not being the value he was bought at.

‘Paul Pogba is simply the biggest signing, he’s a world champion, won all those trophies at Juventus and there’s a large expectation around him.

‘However, I can accept a player of that level not playing well. I can accept them even being a little bit down but it’s quite categoric his agent, his best friend has tried to get him out of this football club for the last 16 months.

‘Whether he’s been loved or not he doesn’t want to be here. You’ve got to find an exit for him, I’m not having a go at him but he doesn’t want to play for Man United he wants to play for Real Madrid, Barca or another club of that ilk. They can’t sign another player with that agent (Raiola), enough is enough.’

Neville’s former team-mate Roy Keane added: ‘I remember thinking he was a great signing but it hasn’t worked out. David Beckham wanted to leave Man United, Peter Schmeichel wanted to leave Man United, if Pogba wants to leave let him leave.

‘Pogba’s left Man United before and they have survived, if he leaves again they will survive, trust me.’

If the club decided not to sign any more players under Raiola, it would prevent them from signing many players with the agent being one of the most well-known and represented across Europe.

One player it would prevent them from signing is Erling Braut Haaland who United have been interested in signing in the past.
