Jose Mourinho has been named Premier League manager of the month for November, following an electric start to the season which sees Tottenham currently top of the division.

Mourinho oversaw three wins from four in November, including Spurs’ crucial 2-0 victory over Manchester City and his arch rival Pep Guardiola.

The Portuguese boss has fended off competition from his former pupil Frank Lampard for the award, following Chelsea’s similar surge to the Premier League summit.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and West Ham’s David Moyes were also in the running.

Taking to his official Instagram page, Mourinho uploaded a video of himself surrounded by his staff members, making a speech upon receiving the honour.

‘First of all let me say it says manager of the month but for me it’s team of the month or staff of the month,’ said Mourinho.

In their last Premier League outing Spurs pulled off a comprehensive victory in the north London derby to defeat bitter rivals Arsenal.

It was a victory which sent them joint top of the table level on points with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool but with a superior goal difference.

Thursday night saw Mourinho’s men pick up another routine victory, at home to Antwerp in the Europa League.

Spurs have now progressed to the latter stage of the competition, which Mourinho has won twice before with Porto and Manchester United respectively.

Spurs face a trip to Crystal Palace this weekend, before a crunch top-of-the-table meeting with Liverpool in midweek.
