Money Heist season 5 ending: Will the Professor sacrifice himself for Tokyo?

La Casa de Papel fans are anxious to find out how the long-running series will draw to a close in season five. One theory about how it might end suggests the Professor (played by Alvaro Morte) might end up sacrificing himself. Here’s everything you need to know about this theory about the Netflix series.

Will the Professor sacrifice himself for Tokyo?

Money Heist season four ended on a dramatic note for the Professor after his hideout was found by Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).

In the final few moments of the series, he was held at gunpoint by the unstable police inspector.

The show ended before viewers could find out his fate ahead of the fifth and final season.

However, some think he will live to fight another day as thy speculate there may be plans to make him take the ultimate sacrifice at the end of the show.

“But Toyko does have a specific line in part four about this being the point where you realise there will not be a happy ending for the Dali crew.”

The theory is certainly an interesting one as fans know the creators often plant seeds of what might happen ahead of time.

Although, it seems like viewers might just have to wait and see whether this plays out as predicted in the final season.

A release date has not yet been confirmed for season five of Money Heist.

However, creator Alex Pina has teased some of what viewers might be able to expect when it returns.

In a statement to Netflix back in July, he said: “We have spent almost a year thinking about how to destroy the band.

“How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters.

“The result is the fifth season of La Casa de Papel.

“The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”

Money Heist seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix now.
