Phillip Schofield: This Morning host left ‘heartbroken’ over news of colleague's death

Phillip Schofield, 58, has taken to Twitter to pay an emotional tribute to Kate Young, who he worked with during his time playing Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on the West End.

The This Morning presenter shared a photo of the musical director in view of his 4.5 million followers this evening after hearing the sad news about her death.

He wrote: “Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Kate Young @katarinageo who was one of my musical directors during my Joseph years. 

“Kind, funny, so talented, wonderfully bonkers and totally delightful. 

“So sad. All my love to her family,” the star concluded. 

 

Fans and celebrities took to the comments section of Phillip’s post to share their condolences.

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan replied: “RIP,” alongside a red love heart emoji.

One of Kate’s former colleagues added: “I was in the Joseph choir for the Edinburgh performances in the early 90’s.  Kate was fantastic with us. Very sad x.”

A fan commented: “Sending hugs your way Phillip xxx.”

Another Twitter user replied: “So sorry to read this.”
