MATCH PREVIEW

Manchester United can wrap up Group H with a game to spare and win the group if they beat Paris Saint-Germain tonight, having won both of their last two meetings with Thomas Tuchel’s outfit.

The Red Devils were 2-1 winners in Paris earlier this season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said ahead of tonight’s clash: “The quicker you can qualify the better, of course. With a win, we’ll win the group so that’s our intent.

“We want to go out there in our style, attacking intent, defending well against a top team with some top individual players, of course. Our mindset is win this game and we’ve won the group.”

Solskjaer added of Cavani, who could come up against his former club this evening after his heroics off the bench in the win at Southampton at the weekend: “Edinson is ready to play.

“Of course it’s special for him to play against PSG, his old club where he’s the top scorer, so that’ll affect him mentally.

“But from knowing him, I know that’ll give him energy and he’ll be ready. He’s so professional, experienced. Of course he will work on his mindset (on Tuesday and Wednesday) to be ready for the game.

“He’s learnt a lesson and it might affect him but he’ll just have to put it to one side when the game’s on. The best players can put their problems or the other thoughts away for a while and then perform when they have to.”

Marcus Rashford has scored the winning goal in both of United’s last two games with PSG and Tuchel said: “We value him [Rashford] very much when he plays in England and not Parc des Princes, honestly, because [him scoring against us] gets a little bit annoying.

“The guy is a very young adult who takes his responsibility on and off the pitch very impressively. I have met him as an opponent three times and every time I’ve met a calm and humble guy and a nice person, which is amazing. I like this mixture a lot.

“For me personally, the sporting side is clear. He’s a big threat with his speed, with his ability to score, with his determination and his finishing.

“He’s very precise, taking shots inside and outside of the box. He is super rapid on counter-attacks and strong in the air with headers.

“He’s had a big impact and it’s nice to see guys like him from the academy having such a big impact in a big, big club like United.”
