Chris Evans: Virgin Radio DJ mocks Harry Judd amid on-air incident: 'Let yourself go'

Chris Evans, 54, playfully joked with his guest Harry Judd, 34, on his Virgin Radio show on Friday, after he accidentally muted his phone during the interview. And the radio DJ was nothing short of quick off the mark with his humorous yet sly jibe at the former McFly band member.

Speaking about his latest projects alongside his bandmate Tom Fletcher, Harry excitedly told of their new recording space before he suddenly paused.

“You what mate?” he could be heard saying as the Virgin Radio studio remained silent.

There was suddenly laughter down the phone line as Harry realised what he’d done.

“I know what I did, I hit the mute button with my cheek,” he giggled.

Chris weighed in: “You’ve got such chubby cheeks nowadays Harry!”

The guest howled with laughter as the radio DJ joked: “You’ve definitely let yourself go!

“You’re out of breath to do a radio interview and your chubby cheeks are turning your phone on mute.

“I’ll tell you what, you’ve got to get yourself in shape before May pal, seriously!”

Elsewhere, Chris broke some important news about his wife Natasha Shishmanian’s latest project.

Chris continued: “She barely ever puts her head above the parapet at home let alone in public, because she’s got more important things to do!”

Rachel interjected: “She’s busy!”

The former Top Gear host recalled the moment he realised his wife had accepted the challenge and what it would meant to her if she did it.

“She looked me in the eye and said, ‘If it gets people on a healthier journey, I’ll do it!’ And that’s her all over,” he beamed.

He revealed she has plans to display each individual recipe on the page in her own handwriting alongside sketches of each dish during the process of cooking.

“She’s really good at drawing as well,” Chris added, remembering her thinking process as she planned her next move.

“She said, ‘I could illustrate and I could sketch it then we could colour it in, so there would be physical representation of what I’m going to cook.'”

The Chris Evans Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6:30am on Virgin Radio.
