Anton Du Beke's wife surprises him in bed with iconic Strictly glittery 10 paddle

Strictly Come Dancing stalwart Anton Du Beke, 54, was surprised by his wife Hannah Summers last weekend, as she brought the dancing show to the bedroom. After being gifted a glittery number 10 paddle last year while dancing with his celebrity partner EastEnders actress Emma Barton, It Takes Two presented them with the memory after their big win in Week 8.

The 53-year-old professional has been on the show since it began in 2004, and even though he has reached the final before, he’s never received a perfect mark from any of the judges until that “brilliant” night.

Speaking to Kim Winston on her Strictly podcast alongside former contestant Joe Sugg on Saturday, Anton revealed his wife’s little surprise after an anecdote about his kids and the paddle.

“I heard your gorgeous children left you a glittery 10 on your pillow when you got home,” Kim prompted the pro dancer.

“Oh my goodness, how did you hear that!” he giggled.

“It was lovely because last year after dancing with Emma, It Takes Two presented us both with a glittery number 10 and I’ve got it at home.

“When I got home late last weekend, I went to bed and my wife was still awake.”

He continued, laughing: “There was an extra pillow on my side, which I removed and as I removed it there was the glittery 10!”

Ever the family man, the 54-year-old gushed over his beautiful squad: “It’s gorgeous, I have the best wife and children in the world!”

Kim giggled as she joked: “You’ll be absolute gutted if they leave you a nine tonight!”

Anton says his stint alongside Craig Revel Horwood and head judge Shirley Ballas has saved this year for him as he thanked bosses for giving him a chance.

He said: “Thank goodness they gave me that job. My ego was around my ankles after getting booted off first this year.

“It came out of the blue. We heard Motsi had to go back to Germany and I didn’t know what they were going to do.

“Then I got a phone call when they asked me to do it. I was so, so happy.”
