Argos down: Website offline and not working ahead of Black Friday 2020 sales

Argos customers are facing a frustrating morning with the retailer’s website currently down and not working. The gremlins appear to have hit the site at around 10:15 am with the issue still ongoing. When heading to argos.co.uk, customers are seeing the message “Sorry about this. We’re just fixing something. Please bear with us. We’ll be back soon.”

Downdetector, which monitors outages across the world, is showing widespread reports about the Argos website going offline with areas such as London, Manchester, Birmingham and Plymouth all affected.

Customers wanting a bargain have now taken to social media to complain about the issues with one tweet saying, “@ArgosHelpers the one day I need Argos and the website is down!!

And another adding: “@MythCollects Argos website down since 10am could this mean they are loading new PS5 stock any ideas?”

It’s unclear what is causing the issues but a number of retailers faced similar issues last week when the PS5 went on sale. Currys was offline of a number of hours as gamers flocked to the site to try and a grab this next-gen console.

Another reason why Argos could be particularly busy is that the firm has just announced the launch of its early Black Friday deals which are available now.

There’s also some tasty discounts on the Dyson V8 vacuum cleaner and Krups coffee machine.

Announcing the sale Argos said: “It is time! The highly anticipated Argos Black Friday period is live, presenting to the nation a range of Black Friday deals, hot products and so much more!”

Along with the price cuts, Argos also says that all customers can also pick up extra with Black Friday bargains by collecting Nectar points on Argos purchases both in store and online.
