Dr. Dre's estranged wife Nicole Young demands in-person testimony from music mogul ex

Dr Dre’s estranged wife Nicole Young is demanding her ex show up for in-person deposition in their ongoing divorce proceedings.

The 50-year-old attorney doesn’t want her 55-year-old music mogul ex to be granted his wish to appear remotely, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

The rapper had previously asked for proceedings to occur ‘via Zoom to keep himself and others safe’ amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, according to the gossip site.

In the court filing, the ex-wife of retired NBA player Sedale Threatt argued that Dre had recently been entertaining guests ‘without implementing even the slightest amount of social distancing protocol’.

She also claimed the Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang hitmaker had also been seen ‘entering and exiting the homes of multiple women around the Los Angeles area.’

The reason for her insistence is that she’s allegedly concerned a remote deposition increases the chances of Dre being coached by his lawyers.

Earlier this month, Nicole demanded to know whether the music mogul had any children with women outside of their 24-year marriage, per court documents.

The 5ft 5in beauty wants the hip-hop legend to hand over thousands of pages of his financial and personal records in pursuit of her share of Dre’s estimated $1 billion fortune as part of their divorce.

And, according to legal documents filed at Los Angeles Superior Court and uncovered by DailyMail.com, those records include a request for any paperwork relating to paternity suits Dre may have been involved in during their marriage.

It came just days after Nicole urged a judge to force three of her soon-to-be-ex husband’s alleged mistresses to testify in their messy divorce.

According to the paperwork, Nicole’s legal team is seeking ‘any and all documents evidencing all monies paid on retainer and/or fees and costs paid to legal counsel and/or experts in connection with any paternity action, regardless of whether a formal action was held and whether said legal action ever was or is pending in a court in Los Angeles or anywhere else in the world.’

Nicole also wanted Dre – real name Andre Young – to turn over any diaries or journals he may have kept, plus records of money or gifts worth $500 or more he has given to ‘third parties.’

The rapper’s attorneys are strongly opposing Nicole’s demands, arguing that disclosing paternity suits or other personal information, ‘would invade Young’s right to privacy’ and the right to privacy of any third parties.

Last week, Nicole – who has accused Dre of ‘rampant and repeated marital misconduct’ – dropped a bombshell by naming three third parties, alleged mistresses of the music tycoon, whom she wants to subpoena to give depositions in her upcoming divorce.

They are singer Jillian Speer, model turned skin care entrepreneur Kili Anderson and Crystal Rogers, aka Crystal Sierra – who is known as the ‘Queen of Latin hip-hop.’

All three area fighting Nicole’s legal efforts to subpoena them as witnesses and they’ve hired lawyer Kris LeFan who last week filed a motion to quash the subpoenas, saying none of the women has ‘information relevant to the enforceability’ of a disputed pre-marital agreement (PMA) at the center of the divorce.

LeFan’s court filings for all three women don’t go into detail on whether they had affairs with Dre.

But he said: ‘Any extra marital affair would be irrelevant because California is a no-fault divorce state and in a pleading or proceeding for dissolution of marriage or legal separation of the parties, including depositions and discovery proceedings, evidence of specific acts of misconduct is improper and inadmissible.’

Reports surfaced in 2013 that Dre had cheated on Nicole with Kili Anderson, a one-time model who now is co-owner of a natural skin care brand called Skin and Senses. Dre vehemently denied the claim.

Baltimore-born Crystal Rogers co-wrote the song Got Me Open which was included in Dre’s compilation album The Aftermath in 1996.

In Dre’s new court documents, his attorney, Laura Wasser, this week accused Nicole of ‘abusing’ the discovery process saying her demands for 12 years of Dre’s financial and personal papers ‘is a complete waste of time, money and resources… and nothing but a blatant attempt to harass Andre.’

Dre is asking LA Superior Court for a protection order that would limit the documents he has to give Nicole and he has balked at handing over his most private information until his estranged wife signs a confidentiality agreement which would keep his personal secrets hidden from the world.

But Nicole has refused to sign, prompting Wasser to add: ‘Providing confidential information without the protection of a confidentiality stipulation is a gross violation of Andre’s constitutional right of privacy.’

Nicole’s lawyers contend that Dre refused when offered a compromise, providing just five years of his financial records, instead of 12 years.

‘His failure to provide even five years of documents is inexcusable,’ said lawyer Samantha Spector. ‘Andre is not interested in resolving this dispute. His only interest is stonewalling Nicole.

‘Andre’s objection that gathering the documents would be an unnecessary, costly endeavor is unworthy of argument considering that Andre earned in excess of $100 million in 2018 and has an estimated net worth of nearly $1 billion.

‘Andre is not entitled to a confidentiality agreement and his desire for one is not an appropriate basis to withhold documents.’

The couple’s nasty fight over Dre’s business empire hinges on a pre-marital agreement (PMA) – signed in 1996 – in which, said Wasser, both agreed to ‘keep separate all income and property acquired before and during marriage.’

Dre maintains that the PMA still exists, while Nicole claims he tore up the original document in front of her after they married in a gesture of his love for her.

Dre wants a judge to determine whether the prenup is valid and enforceable. And until that ruling is made, he maintains that his business records are none of Nicole’s business.

Nicole claims she has been shown two versions of the PMA, one that’s missing pages and is unsigned, the other that’s only signed by the couple and not by a lawyer witness or notary public.

But Dre’s lawyer, Wasser countered, calling Nicole’s statement, ‘simply not true’ and saying that Dre provided Nicole with a copy of the PMA that’s ‘signed by both parties and a notary public.’

The Dre divorce has become more and more contentious since Nicole filed at the end of June this year.

In September, the rapper accused his wife of criminal conduct in ’embezzling’ more than $350,000 from one of their bank accounts.

And in early October, Nicole asked a judge to order Dre to pay $1.5 million for various expenses, including her security, plus $5 million toward her attorney fees and other costs. Both requests were denied.
