Holly Willoughby lands new role away from This Morning with ITV co-star Ashley Banjo

This Morning host Holly Willoughby will be replacing her co-host Phillip Schofield with Ashley Banjo as they partner up with Facebook to promote their smart video product Portal. The ITV favourites will appear in 30-second clips produced by ITV Creative and will show them staying in touch as they prepare for Christmas.

Dancing on Ice colleagues Holly and Ashley will be staying in touch and discussing festive traditions via the different features of the Portal device.

In one of the festive clips, Holly can be seen calling her pal to show off her mince pies and teasing him about her mum’s secret recipe.

Ashley meanwhile can be seen sitting at home surrounded by beautifully wrapped Christmas presents.

Another clip shows Ashley wearing his festive Christmas jumper as Holly remarks: “Wow, very festive!”

He then tries to get her to join in with a festive dance routine but the This Morning presenter declares: “Oh yeah, sorry, I’ve got to decorate my tree.”

Holly looks glamorous as ever dressed in a silky green two-piece outfit as she adds the finishing touches to a grand Christmas tree.

Both videos end with the tagline: ”If you can’t be there, feel there.”

The campaign is set to air on ITV from November 14 to December 13.

From the AI-powered Smart Camera and AR Masks, through to Group calling and WhatsApp integration, Portal’s technology allows consumers to focus on what matters; coming together during the holidays and keeping Christmas traditions alive.

Speaking about the campaign, Simon Daglish, Deputy Managing Director, Commercial at ITV, said “We’re all aware of how important staying connected has been throughout the numerous challenges posed by the lockdown, and it’s a pleasure to work alongside the team at Facebook, as well as some of our best loved ITV talent, on this festive campaign for the Portal, at a time when we’re all looking for new ways to keep in touch!”

“Portal was created to keep friends and loved ones close, even when they can’t physically be together,” explains Aaron Hoffman, EMEA Marketing lead for Portal from Facebook.

“Partnering with ITV and featuring the real friendship of Holly and Ashley is a perfect way for us to show that with Portal, you can still feel like you’re in the same room together, and that Christmas can still feel like Christmas.”

It comes after Holly shared a hilarious wardrobe malfunction from behind the scenes of This Morning.

In a video clip posted to her Instagram Stories, the presenter could be seen wearing black tailored trousers and odd shoes.
