Medical drama Grey’s Anatomy will be back making its big comeback on November 12 on ABC. The show is expected to come to Sky and NOW TV at a later date. Season 17 will pick up where the last series left off after the coronavirus pandemic saw the run truncated.
Who is in the cast of Grey’s Anatomy series 17?
Dr. Meredith Grey – Ellen Pompeo
Lead star Ellen Pompeo will again be reprising her role as the iconic Meredith Grey, who will face new challenges in season 17.
Pompeo has been front and centre of the drama since the very beginning and the last series saw her character saved by her colleagues as she faced losing her licence to practice medicine.
Grey’s Anatomy is Pompeo’s biggest role to date after she previously starred in the likes of Daredevil, Old School and Moonlight Mile.
The show’s creator Shonda Rhimes has previously said Grey’s Anatomy will go on for as long as Pompeo wants to keep appearing.

Dr. Owen Hunt – Kevin McKidd
Scottish actor Kevin McKidd will be back in the frame as Owen Hunt and has been part of the show since 2008.
McKidd has appeared in Trainspotting, Rome, Journeymen and Anna Karenina, among other projects before landing his role in Grey’s Anatomy.
Dr. Jo Karev – Camilla Luddington
British-American actress reprises her role as Jo Karev, who will be reeling after she was suddenly left by her husband in the last series.
Her previous roles include True Blood, Californication and playing Kate, Duchess of Cambridge in the film William & Kate.
Other cast members who are going to be returning to the show include Jesse Williams as Dr. Jackson Avery, Caterina Scorsone as Dr. Amelia Shepherd, Kelly McCreary as Dr. Maggie Pierce, Giacomo Gianniotti as Dr. Andrew DeLuca, and Kim Raver as Dr. Teddy Altman.
Sadly, last season saw Alex Karev depart the show after Justin Chambers made the decision to leave.
He was one of the few remaining original cast members in the show alongside Pompeo.
The new series will also see some guest cast members coming on board.
