Japan PM Suga instructs cabinet to compile new stimulus package

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has instructed his cabinet to compile a new stimulus package focusing on steps to revitalise an economy hit by the coronavirus pandemic, Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said on Tuesday.

The package will consist of measures to cushion the blow from COVID-19, steps to assist structural changes in the economy and boost productivity through digitalisation, Nishimura told a news conference.
