Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may have saved himself a fortune in the transfer market with the signing of Diogo Jota – and that could spell good news over a possible future deal for Kylian Mbappe. Jota has scored seven goals in his 10 appearances for Liverpool since his initial £41million move from Wolves in the summer.
The Portugal international struck a sublime hat-trick in the 5-0 Champions League demolition of Atalanta on Tuesday.
Jota started instead of Roberto Firmino in a fluid Liverpool front line alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
And at just 23 years of age, Klopp may have found one long-term solution for when the famous front three exit Anfield.
Liverpool fans won’t want to admit it, but that day will come.

But if Real or Barca are serious in either Salah or Mane, then that could raise a large amount of the funds Liverpool would need.
And the impact so far of Jota would mean Klopp wouldn’t have to worry about saving money to fill that position.
At £45m, Jota could turn out to be one of Klopp’s best long-term signings.
