Leeds United can sign top transfer target Michael Olise for bargain in January

Leeds United transfer target Michael Olise has a release clause of just £8million in his Reading contract, according to reports. Leeds were interested in signing Olise during the summer transfer window. The 18-year-old has started eight of Reading’s first nine Championship games of the season.

Olise has scored two goals and registered three assists for the Royals, who are three points clear at the top of the second tier of English football with a game in hand.

He made his professional debut in March 2019, aged just 17, and has played 35 games in total for the Berkshire side.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa made a host of new signings during the summer window.

Centre-backs Robin Koch and Diego Llorente, striker Rodrigo and winger Raphinha were brought in, among others.

“Rather than Leicester’s pace causing us problems, it was more the fact that we allowed them to give the final pass with too much comfort and too much ease.

“We learnt that we need to defend better and attack better.”

Leeds are back in action on Saturday when they visit Crystal Palace (3pm).
