Donald Trump 'will stay barricaded inside White House even if he LOSES to Joe Biden'

The 2020 US election results remain too close to call and both candidates have stated that they will win the presidential race. The incumbent leader announced that the Democrats are “never going to catch us” in a statement and declared “we did win this election” ahead of ballots being counted. Earlier on Twitter he predicted “a big WIN!” and former Vice President Mr Biden stated he was “on track to win this election”. The US polls currently tip the odds in Mr Trump’s favour but the full results are yet to be confirmed and could take several days to be declared. In a break from tradition, the incumbent President stayed in the White House last night and celebrated with a party – typically candidates vacate the Presidential office. Dr Bandy X Lee, a world-renowned forensic psychiatrist and advisor to the World Health Organisation, warned that Mr Trump’s words signify that he could refuse to leave and instead stay barricaded in the White House even in the event of a Biden victory.

Dr Lee, who has treated violent offenders for many years and has profiled the incumbent US leader a number of times, revealed her grave concerns for the future.

She told Express.co.uk: “Donald Trump is a very concrete person – and so his words apply either directly or in the exact opposite meaning.

“So when he says, ‘There won’t be a transfer…. There will be a continuation,’ I take him seriously, and of course it is very concerning.”

The mental health profession, who worked at the Yale School for medicine for 17 years, referred to Mr Trump’s comments in September.

During a White House briefing, he was asked if there would be a peaceful transfer of power – amid continued hostility in the US and aggressive demonstrations across the country.

He said: “We’re going to have to see what happens, you know that. I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster.”

When the question was repeated for a second time by reporter Brian Karem, Mr Trump refused to commit and gave an answer the journalist later described as “frightening”.

The US President stated that if they got “rid of the ballots” it would be “very peaceful” because “there won’t be a transfer, frankly”.

Mr Trump, who warned that the ballots were “out of control”, added: “There will be a continuation.”

Mr Karem later tweeted that he had “interviewed convicted killers with more empathy” and suggested that Mr Trump was “advocating civil war”.

The incumbent leader has not directly advocated the use of violence but has made a number of concerning comments.

In early October, he told the “Proud Boys” – a right-wing group known for their militaristic approach – to “stand back and stand by”.

Dr Lee predicted a “range of probabilities” even if the US leader lost the election including World War 3.

She told Express.co.uk: “The first and foremost is any level of violence – civil war, international war or even nuclear war, which are all real possibilities.

“The last is resignation and quitting, if only we had well-intentioned and psychologically astute people around him – currently, we have neither.”

The anti-Trump psychiatrist, who wrote a profile on the incumbent leader ahead of the election, feared for the future if he was reelected.

She added: “American democracy will surely be destroyed, the country will descend into violence and chaos.

“It would begin a very dark time for the nation as well as the world, since brutal dictators and fascist regimes will flourish everywhere.”
