Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 73, carried out an important royal visit on Wednesday. The Duchess visited the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey where poppy tributes are left every year to remember members of the armed forces who have lost their lives serving Britain.
Remembrance Sunday will be very different this year as England prepares to go into a nationwide lockdown on Thursday.
The traditional service at the Cenotaph which is usually led by Queen Elizabeth II, 94, is unlikely to go ahead under the new COVID-19 restrictions.
Nonetheless, the Duchess of Cornwall carried out a poignant visited on the eve of lockdown to honour the Royal Family’s ties to the armed forces.
Camilla visited the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey to pay tribute to the servicemen and women honoured there.

Clarence House tweeted a clip of the engagement with the message: “At the Field of Remembrance, HRH viewed the Graves of Unknown and toured the plots.
“Ex-servicemen and women, as well as members of the public, can plant a cross or symbol carrying a personal message in memory of those who lost their lives in the service of others.”
Camilla wore a dark green dress coat, hat and black trousers for the outing.
The Duchess accessorised with a poppy brooch and a poppy face mask.
One gushed: “Love the face mask. I asked a poppy seller, but they said they weren’t selling any.
“Can I ask where I can obtain one from please.”
Another wrote: “I know there are far more important things happening today, but we’re gonna SMT Cam in a poppy mask right?!?
“Very, very here for masks with a message.”
A third reacted: “I love her mask! I have not seen them for sale.”
Another fan described Camilla’s mask as “a nice touch.”
They put: “The poppy mask is a nice touch.”
Camilla and Prince Charles have been based at Clarence House in London since the spring.
However, the royal couple could ditch the capital for one of their country royal residences ahead of lockdown.
Camilla and Charles spent the first lockdown in Aberdeenshire at their Scottish Royal residence Birkhall.
They may choose to remain there as England goes into lockdown from November 5 to December 2.
