Lorraine Kelly, 60, has branded Good Morning Britain correspondent Nick Dixon, 49, “such a stalwart” after he told his 13,000 Twitter followers about a painful shoulder injury he sustained following a “nasty fall” this week. ITV’s Lorraine host checked up on her colleague as soon as she heard the news and asked if he was okay.

It comes after Nick shared a snap of his discharge advice from the Emergency Department at Tumbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Showing his appreciation for the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic, the presenter tweeted: “Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the A&E staff at @MTWnhs for looking after me so well this week after a nasty fall.

Elsewhere, Lorraine recently shared an emotional tweet in support of Kate Garraway, 53, after her husband Derek Draper managed to speak for the first time since being diagnosed with coronavirus back in March.

The ITV host said she was in awe of her colleague and friend as she continues to be courageous during this difficult period.

Lorraine retweeted an article that announced Kate’s news about her other half.

She typed on Twitter: “I continue to be in awe of @kategarraway – and her courage, strength and grace during the worst of times.

“Now at last a glimmer of hope,” Lorraine added.

Kate recently revealed her husband had uttered his first word in 214 days in hospital – “Pain”.

Derek mouthed the word as doctors manipulated his body, which a sobbing Kate watched online.

She told The Sun: “Obviously it’s so heart-wrenching that his first word was ‘pain’, but it is a huge breakthrough because it means he has been able to connect the feeling in his body to his brain and mouth.”
