Today, US citizens head to the polls to vote on who will become the next President of the United States. During the campaign trail, Donald Trump has been lagging behind Democrat rival Joe Biden.
As the world anticipates the result, Mr Juncker intervened in the US election and warned about speaking out in favour of either side.
He told the ARD European studio in Brussels: “Caution is the mother of transatlantic wisdom.”
Mr Juncker – who was the Prime Minister for Luxembourg for many years – also warned against sending congratulations before the election result is final.
Across Europe, countries such as Hungary are in favour of Mr Trump, while many Western European heads of state prefer Mr Biden.
Mr Biden is currently leading the way in US election polls.
According to FiveThirtyEight, the Democrat is currently “favoured” to win the US election.
The site forecasts 348 electoral college votes for Mr Biden in the election, and 190 electoral college votes for Mr Trump.
In their final forecast, CNN predicted Mr Biden will win 279 electoral college votes – enough to secure the election.

Betfair predicted Mr Trump’s chances of re-election dropped from 39 percent to 32 percent.
Spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “The initial boost that Donald Trump received overnight has disappeared and his odds have slumped to 8/5, his worst chances since early October.
“At 4/9, Biden is closing in on his best position yet and it’s clear with hours until the polls close there has never been more confidence in a Democrat victory.”
