Mauricio Pochettino to appear on Monday Night Football alongside Jamie Carragher as he prepares to discuss his Tottenham exit and analyse mentor Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds against Leicester

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to return to TV screens by joining Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football.

Pochettino has been invited on by Sky Sports, and will offer his input in the studio prior to Leeds United’s clash with Leicester City. 

Pochettino has been away from football since he was sacked by Tottenham in November 2019, though has been linked with a host of top jobs since.

He was replaced by Jose Mourinho, and was widely expected to head to the former stomping ground of the Portuguese and manage at Manchester United.

The insight provided by the Argentine is expected to be highly informative, particularly when it comes to the inner workings of the enigmatic Bielsa.

Pochettino has often talked of his admiration for Bielsa, previously saying: ‘He is one of the best managers in the world.

‘He is like my father in both ways because he’s 60 years old so he can be my father and he is also like my football father.

‘We are a generation of coaches who were his disciples. How he feels football, the passion he has for football, I think we all took that from him. 

‘It’s a pleasure to see him, to greet him, and to play against his teams is always a beautiful challenge.’
