Sucks. But kind of makes sense. You need enough PS5 consoles in the wild to sell PSVR 2 headsets. Developers need enough PS5 systems sold and headsets sold to make money off of. Catch 22. Can’t sell both because it’s too much for a company to ask from gamers and also causes consumer confusion.
PSVR will get a little longer in the tooth in 2021 leading to Quest 2 sales for those not caring about the login. I still won’t get it. But as much as I want a PS5, I want VR more. Also want companies to announce that they are using PS5 to improve current games. And not PS4 Pro level updates through BC.
Until then, I’ll be hanging on to PS4. But I might have to do something interesting that will get people talking. We’ll see now that Sony has announced the system and the controller and its abilities.
