Alex Beresford apologises as he pulls out of Good Morning Britain: 'I won’t be hosting'

Good Morning Britain presenter Alex Beresford, 40, has told fans he will not be presenting the show with Charlotte Hawkins for the rest of the week, due to falling ill with a cold. The host will be replaced by Ben Shephard.

In view of his 61,000 followers, the host shared his previous post which told fans he will be fronting the show for the rest of the week.

After the show was aired today, he told fans he will no longer be presenting on Thursday or Friday.

He wrote: “Due to having a cold and feeling unwell I won’t be hosting @gmb tomorrow or Friday.

“In normal circumstances I’d power through, however with things getting worse we don’t need anymore germs flying around the studio.

“Hope you are feeling better soon,” a third penned.

His co-host Charlotte also wrote: “Sorry @alexberesfordTV & hope you’re feeling better soon.”

Alex had originally told his followers he will be joining Charlotte for the rest of the week.

He wrote: “Back hosting @gmb for the rest of this week with @CharlotteHawkns although I’ve lucked out and will be strolling on set at 6:30am.

“This is classed as a lie in in breakfast TV. Headlines at 6am with Charlotte x.”

The Good Morning Britain star is best known for delivering the latest weather updates on the show as well as occasionally presenting the programme.

Last week on the show, he sent viewers wild after a topless picture of him was shown live on air.

The weather host showcased his abs while holding onto balloons and a card in celebrations to mark his special day on Instagram.

Hosts Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh teased Alex about his snap last Friday.
