Saved By Bell reboot trailer shows Tiffani Thiessen and Mario Lopez

The hit series Saved By The Bell aired from 1989 until 1993, centered around a group of friends as they dealt with social issues in a light-hearted fashion.

And 27 years later, the show has returned back for a rebooted version, with the first trailer premiering on Tuesday.

In the trailer, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tifffani Thiessen reprise their roles as Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski, with Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley returning as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano.

In the series, Zack is now Governor Zack Morris; he has a son with wife Kelly named Mac, played by Mitchell Hoog. 

Mark-Paul is set to be in only three episodes with Tiffani only in one; Elizabeth and Mario are regulars in the reboot.

Although not pictured, Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa, is reportedly set to have a guest appearance but Dustin Diamond, who was Screech, was not invited to participate. 

As the governor, Zack closes several underfunded high schools and causes students to be absorbed by more affluent ones.

At one point, Principal Ronald Toddman, played by John Michael Higgins, says: ‘I just care about Zack and Kelly!’

AC also does one of his signature moves, which is to spin a chair and sit in it backwards, to which a student asked him if he really did that because they’ve never seen it done in real life.

He also calls Bayside High as ‘magic,’ as he reminisces on his high school days;  one student also points out he is single, childless, and hangs out with high schoolers.

Zack, Kelly, Jessie and AC also hit the stage together for a musical appearance as what appears to be a  Zack Attack reunion of some sorts.

The Max, the burger joint the original show frequented, is also back, with diner owner Max, played by Ed Alonzo.

The showrunner is Tracey Wigfield, with other executive producers including Franco Bario and Peter Engel.

Mark-Paul, Tiffani, Elizabeth and Mario are also producers, with the show being produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, according to Variety.

Saved By The Bell’s reboot is set to premiere on the Peacock Network on November 25.
