Coleen Nolan's sister Maureen sets record straight after Paul Chuckle questions Covid rule

Maureen Nolan was one of the founding members of The Nolan Sisters who shot to fame in the 70s. The singer and actress regularly shares glimpses into her life on Twitter.

The 66-year-old recently took to the micro-blogging site and shared a snap alongside Strictly Come Dancing star Aljaz Skorjanec.

Maureen shared a photo with the professional dancer, where she stunned in a yellow shirt.

In one photo, the pair beamed at the camera and in the second snap they held each other’s hand as they made a dance motion.

In view of her 5,413 followers, Maureen captioned the post: “Loving @AljazSkorjanec & @claraamfo… Rooting for you both! #StrictlyComeDancing.”(sic)

While a third person added: “I’d love to see you on Strictly. It’s not a show I generally watch but I certainly would if you were in it.”

Maureen has enjoyed an illustrious career as the chart-topping Irish girl band with her sisters Coleen, Denise, Linda and the late Bernie.

In March, Linda and Anne both received devastating cancer diagnoses within days of each other.

Linda’s incurable cancer is in her liver, her third recurrence following breast cancer in 2006, cellulitis and lymphoedema in her arm in 2007 and secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017.

Anne’s breast cancer is stage three, the most serious being stage four, and it is the second time she has had to fight the disease.

The sisters have since rung the chemotherapy bell to mark the end of their cancer treatment.

Meanwhile, the Nolan Sisters released their Gold compilation album last month.

The album features some of the band’s biggest hits including their iconic single I’m In The Mood For Dancing.
