'I won't stay at home!' Barnsley pensioner Maureen hits out at South Yorkshire lockdown

South Yorkshire resident Maureen, 83, told Good Morning Britain she did not let the first wave of the coronavirus keep her at home.

The pensioner insisted she once again will not let the resurgence of the virus prevent her from living her normal life as she warned of the impact the restrictions will have on the younger generation.

Maureen rose to fame after a passionate interview during which she admitted she “doesn’t give a sod” about the tier 3 measures imposed on South Yorkshire.

The frank comments turned her into an overnight celebrity, with some people cheering her on and writing “Maureen for PM!’ across social media.
