Bethenny Frankel tells Ellen DeGeneres her feelings about potential RHONY return

Bethenny Frankel has shared her feelings about the potential of returning to The Real Housewives Of New York City.

The 49-year-old became a star on the Bravo reality show and has left the cast twice, once in 2010 and then again last year.

‘I would be respectful to where I came from. I’m in a different place now,’ she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, according to JustJared.

‘I think that the opportunities that I’m getting, and some of these interviews for example, might not have happened if I were still on that show.’

Bethenny has been drawing attention lately for using her disaster relief organization BStrong to help deal with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She also recently launched her own podcast Just B and has already had celebrity guests as high-profile as Paris Hilton.

‘I do say on the podcast to people, especially during this time, people are very unsettled and don’t know what’s going on,’ she told Ellen on Friday’s episode.

‘The snow globe has been shaken up with unemployment. When you jump, you fly. I left a big financial paycheck there, but I knew that something amazing was going to happen, and the journey was going to take me to a great place.’

Bethenny explained to Ellen: ‘I believe in the path. This is where I am. I’m so focused on the things I’m doing, whether it’s relief work, my daughter or the podcast, I’m excited about what’s happening now.’

The Real Housewives Of New York City has just lost a couple of cast members, as Dorinda Medley was fired and Tinsley Mortimer left the show so that she could move to Chicago in order to marry her fiance Scott Kluth.

Bethenny recently responded to rumors that the new Dancing With The Stars host Tyra Banks wants to avoid using Real Housewives on the show going forward.

A source had told OK! that Tyra only wants to hire Real Housewives ‘after everyone else has passed,’ a claim Bethenny reacted to on Twitter.

‘Good to know @tyrabanks has clumped me in her no more housewives mandate on @DancingABC Also good to know – their casting director Deena, who I [heart] has asked me to be on that show multiple x in the last decade. I’m also no longer a housewife, but nobody is bigger than the game Tyra,’ she wrote.

Bethenny then deleted that post and explained that she did so because ‘I really like & have a great relationship with Deena Katz from #DWTS.’

She added: ‘If @tyrabanks wants to come on my podcast, she is welcome anytime as she has built a successful brand on her own in her own way. #justbebethenny.’

During Friday’s episode of Ellen’s show Bethenny also addressed her breakup from her fiance Paul Bernon which brought an end to a two-year romance.

‘You know, not everything works out. So many people have tried to define my life – our lives – with: “When are you getting engaged? When are you having a baby? When are you getting married?”‘ explained Bethenny.

‘And I’ve just realized more in life, with people being more open and honest about their lives and what they want, that everything doesn’t have to sort of end in a blue box and a bow. We’ve had a great, great relationship and I’m really happy.’

She made sure to clarify: ‘Not everything has to end badly, some things just don’t continue and it’s not negative. It’s just life.’

Early last week Us Weekly reported that Bethenny and Paul decided to call it quits with a source saying the breakup occurred ‘a couple weeks’ prior.

Bethenny revealed on Watch What Happens Live in late September that she is still legally married to Jason Hoppy eight years after their split.

They were married in 2010 and separated in 2012, kicking off an acrimonious legal fight over money and custody of their 10-year-old daughter Bryn.

Jason and Bethenny managed to strike a custody agreement in 2014 and two years later they came to a financial settlement.
