BA launches sale, Wizz Air new Greece & Italy routes & Virgin Atlantic Caribbean flights

Flights may have been made difficult by the coronavirus pandemic this year but, fingers crossed, it will be a different story next year. Airlines British Airways, Wizz Air and Virgin Atlantic all announced exciting developments today. From new routes to “incredible” sales, 2021 holidays could be looking up. This is what you need to know.

British Airways

BA has launched a range of luxury flight and holiday deals available to a wide range of destinations across its global network.

Club World (long haul business class) flights to New York, USA start from £1,199 return while Club Europe (short-haul business class) customers can pick up return flights to Bologna, Italy from £147 return.

Customers can also bag return business class flights to Rome, Itay from £165, Athens, Greece from £195, Montego Bay, Jamaica and Toronto, Canada from £1,299, and Caribbean destinations Antigua and Barbados from £1,399.

British Airways holiday offers include three-night getaways to Dubai, UAE from just £1,325pp and seven-night trips to St Lucia in the Caribbean from £1,479pp.

For those wishing to experience the USA, offers include four-nights to New York from £1,299pp, five-nights in Los Angeles from £1,749pp and seven-nights in Orlando from £1,699pp.

Closer to home, seven-night BA beach breaks to Mallorca, Spain are from £349pp, whilst three-night city breaks to Rome are from just £259pp.

Customers will need to act fast to book their 2021 getaway as flight and holiday offers remain on sale until November 3, 2020.

In further BA news, the airline’s flexible change policy has been extended.

Customers can claim a voucher to the value of their booking, valid for travel until 30 April 2022, if:

– They booked prior to 3 March 2020 for travel due to have started by 10 January 2021

or

– They booked from 3 March 2020 onwards for travel due to be completed by 31 August 2021

Wizz Air

Wizz Air is celebrating the launch of its new base at Gatwick Airport today.

The London airport which is one of three UK bases for the airline alongside London Luton and Doncaster Sheffield.

Wizz has also launched four new routes to Athens, Lanzarote, Malta and Naples.

Flights to Malta start from £12.99, Athens and Lanzarote, Spain start from £16.99 and Naples, Italy from £19.99.

The four new holiday routes which commence this week mean Wizz Air now has 490,000 tickets on sale on nine routes from the South London hub.

Wizz already flies between Gatwick Airport and the cities of Sofia in Bulgaria, Budapest in Hungary, Gdansk and Krakow in Poland, and Bucharest in Romania.

Both Antigua and Grenada are currently included in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Developments Office’s (FCDO) travel corridor list, allowing quarantine free travel for customers.

Virgin Atlantic also plans to expand its network even further, with services from London Heathrow to Boston, USA, launching on November 21.

Pakistani destinations Lahore and Islamabad, and Cape Town, South Africa, routes are scheduled to commence in December 2020 while more routes will be added in 2021 in line with customer demand.

Virgin Atlantic has recently expanded its onboard offering to increase its food and drink choice for customers whilst continuing to ensure the services are designed to limit interaction, with food prepared in a Covid-safe, monitored environment.

In premium and economy customers can enjoy a choice of three hot meals as part of the “Fly safe Eat Well” meal box, which also incorporates cheese and biscuits and a dessert pot.
