Why is my Facebook messenger purple?

Facebook said the change is part of a grand strategy reflecting how way people keep in contact via the Messenger app.

In their October 13 statement, Facebook wrote: “Today, Messenger gets a new look to mark our continued evolution from a simple way to message your Facebook friends, to a place to hang out with your favourite people, on your favourite apps and devices.

“Our new logo reflects a shift to the future of messaging, a more dynamic, fun, and integrated way to stay connected to the people you’re close to.”

Facebook added how they “hope you like it as much as we do”.
