Best Forgotten Phone of 2019 | Huawei P30 Long-Term Review

Long-term review of the Huawei P30, one of the best smartphones of 2019 that everyone seems to have forgotten. Overshadowed by the Pro at launch, the excellent P30 still boasts a brilliant camera, pleasingly compact design, smooth performance and strong battery life. Plus, with EMUI 10 due to land any day now, there’s more to look forward to in 2020.

I’ve been re-using this Huawei mobile months after launch to see if it’s still one of the greatest Androids of the year. And my mind hasn’t been changed – the Huawei P30 doesn’t get enough love in those pointless ‘best phones of 2019’ lists, which are chock full of Samsung and iPhone handsets. Now it’s only £500 in the UK, this is a great value device and strong rival to the OnePlus 7T.

Sure, you don’t get the crazy-insane telephoto zoom of the Pro version, but this smartphone still offers a crisp 5x hybrid zoom and excellent camera features. There’s no wireless charging and the battery is a bit smaller, but I have no problem going all day on a single charge. Plus, performance hasn’t aged at all.
