Genshin Impact update 1.1 will be the first major download for the hit free-to-play game from miHoYo. And one recent alleged leak has given Genshin Impact players some early patch notes for the inbound update 1.1 download as well as an idea of when the release date could be. As reported on in a post by Inverse, a recent alleged leak has pencilled in the Genshin Impact update 1.1 release date for October 12.

Which would mean the first major patch for Genshin Impact would be releasing just a few weeks after the game’s launch.

And according to the alleged leak there is plenty for players to look forward to in Genshin Impact update 1.1 which is rumoured to be bringing with it tonnes of new content.

The biggest rumoured addition for Genshin Impact update 1.1 will be the arrival of up to eight new characters.

One of these new characters is called Zhongli, according to the leaks. This is a Geo-based character which uses a pole arm as a weapon.

Elsewhere Cryo-based character Ayaka, who uses a sword, is also expected to be included in Genshin Impact update 1.1.

Both of these characters were available at various stages of the Genshin Impact beta test that took place earlier this year.

One of these characters is expected to automatically unlock once a player reaches Adventure Rank 42 in Genshin Impact. Other characters that could also be coming to Genshin Impact in update 1.1 are Baizhu, Childe, Dainsleif, and Ganyu.

If Genshin Impact update 1.1 does bring with it eight new characters then it will hugely shake-up the Genshin Impact tier list, which has been a big talking point for fans since the game launched. Elsewhere, Genshin Impact update 1.1 is expected to bring with it another major new addition – a new region to explore.

It is believed Inuzuma, a third land which is themed after the Electro element, will be included with the latest patch and will unlock at Adventure Rank 34. It has also been claimed that Genshin Impact update 1.1 will bring with it new player challenges as well as a private messaging system.

It remains to be seen how reliable these Genshin Impact leaks are, and whether the upcoming patch will include these rumoured new features. However, since this leak first emerged last week it has been revealed that the official miHoYo website tells a slightly different story.

A post on the Genshin Impact developer’s website pencils in update 1.1 as launching on November 11. This will be followed by Genshin Impact update 1.2 in December and then version 1.3 in February.

The Genshin Impact makers haven’t said much about what update 1.1 will include, but they have confirmed it will launch ‘The Unreturned Star’ event. Here are more details on miHoYo have said about the Genshin Impact roadmap…

• Version 1.1 – update scheduled for November 11, when the “The Unreturned Star” event will begin.

• Version 1.2 – scheduled for December 23 with the arrival of the Dragon’s Ridge area along with events associated with that area.

• Version 1.3 – scheduled for February 2021 with the arrival of events related to the Sea Light Festival.

According to the schedule, Genshin Impact will be updated every five weeks – which is the same for miHoYo’s other hit game Honkai Impact 3rd.

The miHoYo schedule also reveals that Wednesdays will be the typical update day for Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact launched last week and has already become a huge success.

Since launching towards the end of September Genshin Impact has wracked up 21million pre-registrations across PC, PS4, and mobile devices.

Interestingly, 17million of these came from mobile devices alone – which could hint that the upcoming Genshin Impact Nintendo Switch release will be absolutely huge.
