Britain reports 17,540 new cases of COVID-19

LONDON (Reuters) – The United Kingdom recorded 17,540 new daily cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, up from the 14,162 it reported the day before, government data showed.

A further 77 people died after testing positive for the virus within 28 days, the data showed.
