Corsair’s gaming keyboards have a new king: the Corsair K100

If you’ve always tried to stay ahead of the competition, you’ve likely looked for the fastest, most capable keyboards you could get. Recently, that’s meant keyboards with 1,000Hz polling rates and key switches with short travel and prompt actuation. Corsair has been at the forefront of many of these gaming keyboard developments. And, with the Corsair K100 RGB, it’s moving gaming keyboards another step forward.

From the debut of the K60 and K90 in 2011, Corsair laid the foundation for quality gaming keyboards. In 2014, the company was the first to offer Cherry MX RGB on a keyboard, giving gamers delightful lighting effects with capable mechanical key switches. In October 2015, it debuted the first keyboards with Cherry MX Silent switches, letting gamers enjoy the advantages of mechanical switches without the noise. Less than a year later, it was first to deliver Cherry MX Speed switches on a keyboard for faster-paced gaming.

That story of progress didn’t stop there either. In 2017, the company began using PBT double-shot keycaps to offer extra durability and longevity to its keyboards. And, Cherry MX Low Profile switches were available first on Corsair keyboards.

This year, Corsair takes gaming keyboards even further. On top of the recent integration with Elgato’s streaming tools, Corsair is delivering the Corsair K100 RGB keyboard. This new entry into the high-end keyboard market takes high-performance PC gaming to new heights thanks to an onboard processing technology called AXON. The AXON processor not only lets the keyboard handle 20 distinct layers of RGB lighting effects independent from software, but it also enables a 4,000Hz polling rate. That increased speed can drop input latency to just half a millisecond, making the Corsair K100 RGB the fastest keyboard on the market.

As competitive gaming moves to faster and faster paces, aided along by the extreme speeds of monitors with 240Hz refresh rates and beyond, the ability to keep up with a display’s response times and minimize any forms of latency can be a serious perk for gamers. And, the Corsair K100 RGB is ready to deliver.

That speed isn’t all that gamers will get with the Corsair K100 RGB keyboard, though. This keyboard features per-key lighting in addition to a three-sided RGB LightEdge with 44 LEDs, giving you plenty of customization options to take advantage of AXON’s capabilities. You also get Corsair’s solid construction with an aluminum frame and durable, double-shot PBT keycaps.

While Cherry MX Speed Silver key switches are also on deck here, this keyboard is the first to offer Corsair’s new OPX Optical-Mechanical keyswitches, for speedy and precise actuation at just 1mm of travel.

Of course, Corsair didn’t stop at just a few perks. There’s also a plush wrist rest that attaches magnetically to the keyboard. Macro keys and dedicated media controls are on board as well, along with an aluminum volume roller. Add in iCue and Elgato Stream Deck software integration, and the customization options and capabilities of this keyboard are truly top-of-the-line.

So, if you want the speed to beat the competition and level up both your streaming and gaming, the Corsair K100 RGB is a must-see option.
