Kate Middleton is 'not afraid' to use 'regular' parenting trick with George and Charlotte

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been married to Prince William since 2011. When becoming parents, there are some Royal Family traditions the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge followed.

However, a parenting expert explained the royal couple have also done some things differently.

The pair welcomed their first child, Prince George, seven, in July 2013.

Princess Charlotte, five, was born in May 2015 and Prince Louise was born in April 2018.

Kate and Prince William have protected their children’s privacy and the young royals will only make rare appearances.

Just this week, royal fans were given a glimpse into the Cambridges home as the children were filmed asking questions to broadcaster David Attenborough.

While her children are not often seen, Kate will regularly share her experiences as a mother, according to parenting expert and managing director at Kiddies Kingdom Mohammed Patel.

This year in particular she resonated with parents as she shared her struggles of homeschooling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The expert explained: “Kate and William’s role in the pandemic was an example of their down to earth approach, as it seemed even the Royal Family couldn’t escape what was the chaos of home schooling.

“They have openly admitted that parenting has its ‘ups and downs’ but work hard to support each other through every milestone, no matter how big or small.”

As well as speaking openly about her children, Kate has a hands-on parenting style which is not always seen in the Royal Family.

When she has appeared out with her children, the Duchess of Cambridge has notably bent down to speak to them or show public affection.

“Although Kate does receive support from nannies and close family, she has always been praised for her hands-on approach to parenting,” the expert continued.

“Kate has always been a busy working mum, taking part in royal engagements and community work.

“Whilst she prides herself on her proactive parenting style, she is also not afraid to ask for help.

“Many working mums today feel ashamed of seeking support, so the Duchess of Cambridge’s ability to balance both work and family duties is welcomed by the public.”

The mother-of-three is sure to have access to all the parenting help and guidance she would want.

However, the expert claimed she has taken a “regular” approach to parenting rather than following what has been done by royals before.

He added: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the future of UK royalty and one of the nations most beloved family units.

“Since giving birth to their first son, George, in 2013, Kate has been praised for her relaxed and ‘regular’ parenting style and it is arguably since becoming a mum, that she has stolen the nations hearts.”
