Gemma Atkinson: Strictly star admits feeling 'a little lost' as she announces new move

Gemma Atkinson announced “the news she’d been waiting to share” on social media today. The fitness fan and mum-of-one is working on a new book The Ultimate Body Plan for New Mums to follow her successful first release.

The former Emmerdale star said he had been working on the book since the birth of her daughter Mia, last July.

She informed her 1.5 million followers that it would cover the “the real stuff” – the “good and bad bits” of her pregnancy and post baby journey.

True to form, the straight-talking star revealed she sometimes felt “a little lost” after welcoming her first child into the world.

Gemma, who recently moved house, shares her one-year-old with her boyfriend, Strictly star Gorka Marquez.

“Here it is!!! The news I’ve been waiting to share with you all,” she wrote online, alongside a picture of her new book.

“Following on from my first book, ‘The ultimate body plan for new mums’ is the 2nd book I’ve been working away on since I had Mia.”

Gemma, who is regularly seen working out in the gym on her Instagram account, went on to reveal the contents of the book includes both exercise and nutritional advice.

She continued: “I wanted to share with mums a way to ease themselves back into exercise with safe post natal training from the plan I’ve devised alongside the wonderful @lydiarees help mums fuel themselves with good nutritious foods which are easy to make with a baby, and basically just help mums of any stage find themselves again.”

Opening up about her own experience as a new mum, the radio presenter said: “At times, I felt a little lost as a new parent and I said to myself I have to share the good and bad bits about my pre and post baby journey regarding my body and my health.

“The real stuff,” she added: “Piles and all!”

“I can’t wait for you to read my journey whilst finding your own, feeling your best again and being the bad ass multitasking, confident mum you were meant to be.

“I hope you guys enjoy it,” she signed off, before thanking her book publisher for the “amazing opportunity”.
