Ever since buying my F31, Ive had trouble finding a place to mount my phone. I ended up with a cup holder mount that I then attached an iOttie One Touch Wireless cradle to.
That worked OK up until the cup holder mount broke. Since it had been a few years since looking for a solution for the BMW 3 series, I thought Id take a look and see if anything new was out there.
Thats when I cam across this mount. From reading reviews, I knew it probably wouldnt hold my Pixel 3XL but I figured if it didnt, I could modify it somehow.
Sure enough, the Pixel 3XL makes the magnet, that attaches to the ball, sag down. The metal plate that attaches to the phone doesnt have much grip to the magnet either.
So onto modifying it.The metal frame that surrounds the hazard/door unlock button, is a perfect position for mounting the phone. Luckily, you can remove the silver ball.
Its only attached by one screw underneath the metal frame. As I mentioned, I had a cup holder mount previously.
