Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are expecting their first child.

The couple, both, 33, who met when they starred together in Game of Thrones, revealed their exciting news when Rose showcased her blossoming baby bump in a magazine shoot on Saturday.

A black-and-white picture from the shoot for Make magazine showed the beaming actress, who starred as Ygritte in the series, with her growing bump on full display.

While Rose debuted her bump during the shoot, she did not comment on her pregnancy during the Make interview.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Kit Harington and Rose Leslie for comment.

The exciting news comes after Kit and Rose made a rare appearance in London on Friday after spending much of 2020 away from the spotlight.

The couple cut a low-key figure as they walked their Whippet dog through the streets of the capital, while wrapped up against the cold in their first sighting since they were seen at the Golden Globes in January.

And the co-stars recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary, after tying the knot in June 2018 at Rose’s spectacular 12th-century Wardhill Castle in Aberdeenshire.

Rose was catapulted to fame with her role of Ygritte in Game Of Thrones where she met Kit who played love interest Jon Snow.

Speaking to Stylist magazine about her time in lockdown, Rose said: ‘I feel incredibly grateful. My husband and I were fortunate to spend lockdown in the countryside.’

She continued: ‘We raised a puppy in lockdown. We were trying to eke out conversation over the dinner table, talking about nothing but what we’d eat the next day.

‘It has been an extraordinary time for all of us, it certainly slowed us down.’

Rose revealed that she and Kit have purchased a Tudor manor house in East Anglia featuring a thatched roof which is surrounded by countryside.

The stunning Scottish actress was killed off on the series in 2014, and will next be seen in Death on the Nile, a film adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel.

Rose will play Louise in the film alongside Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot and Death on the Nile will hit cinemas on October 9.

Kit, who portrayed Jon Snow on the HBO fantasy series, has mostly kept out of the spotlight this year since he attended the Golden Globes with Rose.

The couple keep their marriage private and prior to the event hadn’t been snapped together for more than six months.

The baby news comes just days after Kit revealed he was brought up in a ‘gender fluid’ environment in his childhood and feels many men have an emotional ‘blockage’.

Earlier this week, Kit told how he grew up idolising his mother, playwright Deborah Jane Catesby, who eschewed gender roles with him and his brother John.

Speaking to The Telegraph, he said: ‘I asked for a Mighty Max and she bought me a Polly Pocket. I asked for an Action Man and I got a doll – it was very gender fluid from the word go. And I went with it.’

The Game of Thrones star went on to say that he believes some men struggle with expressing their feelings because of attitudes passed down since World War II.

He said: ‘I feel that emotionally men have a problem, a blockage, and that blockage has come from the Second World War, passed down from grandfather to father to son.

‘We do not speak about how we feel because it shows weakness, because it is not masculine. Having portrayed a man who was silent, who was heroic, I feel going forward that is a role I don’t want to play any more.’

Kit added that he does not think the world needs to see more of a ‘masculine role’.

The star portrayed Jon Snow in series for its entire run from 2011 to 2019 and won rave reviews for his performance.

However, the show’s finale was slammed for being a letdown and, despite being up for two gongs at this year’s BAFTAs, the series was left empty handed.

It had been nominated for Costume Design and Must-See Moment but failed to scoop either.

Kit will next be seen in the upcoming superhero film Eternals where he will play Dane Whitman, a human warrior who owns a mystical sword.

The actor will star in the film, which is scheduled for release in February 2021, with Richard Madden, Gemma Chan and Angelina Jolie.
