Paris mosque: Police at scene after incident in Ivry-Sur-Seine

Witnesses on Twitter initially reported gunshots at a mosque in Ivry-Sur-Seine, in the south-east of Paris. However, it later emerged a large group of men had clashed, leaving one person with knife injuries.

A police source told 20Minutes a group of around 10 men had clashed outside the mosque.

They said “one man was injured with a stabbing weapon” during the clash.

They said no gunshots were fired.

Police are investigating.

It comes just hours after a knife attack in Paris left two injured. Anti-terror police are investigating.

Prime Minister Jean Castex had earlier said four people had been stabbed, but a police source later said the number of people wounded was two, one of them seriously.

One witness said: “I was in my office. I heard screams in the road.

“I looked out of the window and saw a woman who was lying on the floor and had taken a whack in the face from what was possibly a machete.

“I saw a second neighbour on the floor and I went to help.”

There is no indicating the incidents are linked.
