PS5 pre-order stock update: GAME gets fresh batch of PlayStation 5 consoles for launch

PS5 fans have been given fresh hope of securing a next-gen console for launch, as UK retailer GAME opens up a second wave of pre-orders.

PlayStation 5 consoles have been selling like hot cakes ahead of the November 19 UK release date, as gaming fans rush to pre-order the next-gen device.

The console is already out of stock at pretty much every retailer, although Sony recently told fans that additional stock would be made available in the coming days.

True to its word, Sony has released a fresh batch of consoles for PS5 fans in the UK.

In an email sent out to customers, GAME has confirmed that limited stock will be available to pre-order through its website on the morning of September 25. You can visit the GAME website by clicking this link.

“LIMITED STOCK COMING TOMORROW LATE MORNING,” reads a GAME message. “KEEP AN EYE ON OUR WEBSITE.”

“The PlayStation 5 is £449.99 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is £359.99.

“In preparation for tomorrow, please make sure you know your password and correct email address for your GAME Reward account.”

There’s no exact time when the pre-orders will go live, although “late morning” suggests from 10am onwards.

Even so, it might be worth logging in as early as possible and to keep checking, just in case pre-orders go live early.

Likewise, it’s worth creating a GAME account before you try to pre-order, and to stay logged in wherever possible.

It might also be worth checking the likes of Amazon, Currys, Smyths, Argos and ShopTo in case you miss out at GAME.

The PS5 has been given a November 12 release date in USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. Fans in the UK and rest of the world will have to wait until November 19 for the PS5 to launch.

The release date was announced with price and pre-order information during a recent PlayStation Showcase event.

The PlayStation 5 Showcase also gave fans a look at some upcoming new games for the console.

The event kicked off with a spectacular look at Final Fantasy 16, which is a PlayStation console exclusive – at least for a limited time.

A new Harry Potter spinoff game – titled Hogwarts Legacy – was also announced, while gameplay was shown for PS5 launch title Spider-Man Miles Morales.

Capcom was busy during the event, announcing Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition for PS5, and showing more of Resident Evil 8: Village.

The stream ended with a teaser for a brand new God of War game in 2021.
