Russell Brand sparks backlash with 'patronising' comments about the 'working class'

One wrote: “Hi, I’m working class and had a disagreement with my working class brother over whether the striping on a pair of shoes was slate-tourmaline or seafoam green. Do you think the working class is color blind or stupid?”

Another replied: “Wow, the working class are articulate and know how to use adjectives. I wonder what adjectives they’d use to describe the dog’s owner? ‘Patronising’ ‘condescending.’”

A third commented: “I’m not altogether sure how I feel about this tweet. Being working class doesn’t put a cap on vocabulary & word exploration. You may never have eaten an apricot but you may well have seen pictures of colour & had reading material readily available though good teachers to help.”

It comes just after Russell was criticised for “mansplaining” feminism after analysing Cardi B’s latest song WAP.
