Hot New Hip Hop reported today that Charlamagne Tha God apologized to Angela Yee for the infamous interview with Gucci Mane in which the rapper put her on blast. In October 2019, Gucci spoke with Charlamagne on The Breakfast Club and he had a few rough things to say about Angela.
Not long after the discussion subsided, Angela was not happy with Charlemagne because he never came to bat for her. In fact, in later interviews, Angela said she and Charlamagne weren’t friends anymore because of it.
When asked about what went wrong between him and Yee, and how Gucci was roped into it, Charlamagne said that he definitely understands why Angela feels the way she does. The Breakfast Club host said that as a “radio personality,” he can’t be held responsible for the things others say.
Gucci Mane was responding to something Angela and Charlamange did together on the radio. And he says Gucci had the right to feel the way that he did. Charlamagne went on to compare the situation to that of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, because of Angela’s interview with August.
Charlamagne says no one could blame Angela for the things that August said in the interview, and neither Jada nor Will could be mad about it either. Regardless, the host claims he and Angela have worked together for a decade now, and he regrets not standing up for her.
In fact, he says he apologized to her yesterday; he said sorry for never backing her up. On account of not seeing her for months, Charlamagne said he had a lot of time to reflect on it, and he realized he could’ve handled it differently.
These days, The Breakfast Club is doing better than ever, and it’s about to be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Charlemagne says there is some obvious tension between himself and Angela, but it would be “petty” to continue fighting about something so small.

In other words, Charlamagne recognized his mistake, apologized, and now he and Angela are doing better again.
