What will happen in Barbarians?

The series is based on the battle of the Teutoburg forest, which was a real battle during which an alliance of Germanic tribes ambushed three Roman legions.

The Romans were led by Publius Quinctilius Varus and the Germanic alliance was led by Arminius, a Germanic officer.

Arminius was a Roman citizen and with his military background he was able to predict the Roman army’s actions.

In the end they claimed victory over the Romans, as they never again made an attempt to conquer many German territories.

The series is likely to remain true to the facts, and it should be historically accurate, with some room for creative changes.

More fans have shared their thoughts on the series having watched the trailer, with one saying: “Looks really interesting, gonna add that to my list.”

Another fan said: “I’m really really excited about this release! The Teutoburg Battle or has some others call it, the Varian disaster, was really a major event that catches the imagination!”

Historical drama series have proved popular with fans recently, including The Last Kingdom, which also airs on Netflix.

Vikings, on History and Prime Video, is also a popular series for fans of series based on real historical figures.
