End of the world: Preacher claims 'we're living in the End Times, no question about it'

The Bible is clear about this: no one shall know the day or the hour of the Second Coming of Christ. And yet, many doomsday preachers and Christian evangelists across the globe believe the signs of His Second Coming are evident. Because although the Bible does not say when the end of the world will come, it does warn of signs in the heavens and the earth.

These are prophetic signs such as wars and rumours of wars, natural cataclysms, false prophets and political unrest.

According to some interpretations of the Bible, these signs are already unfolding and can be seen in many modern-day events.

Preachers like Paul Begley from West Lafayette in Indiana, US, are at the forefront of the doomsday prophesying, believing humanity’s fate was sealed 2,000 years ago with the crucifixion of Christ.

Pastor Begley is the host of the weekly TV series The Coming Apocalypse, during which he draws parallels between scripture and news headlines.

He also runs a popular YouTube channel where on a nearly daily basis he gives his ominous interpretations of the Bible.

In a most recent broadcast of The Coming Apocalypse, he told his followers the End Times are already here.

Pastor Begley said: “I’m Pastor Paul Begley and today we have a great broadcast for you – behold the days have come.

“We’re living in this End Time, there’s not a question about it.

“Really what we’re doing now is trying to find out how to prepare for such a time as this.

Mathew 24 reads: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.

“You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is yet to come.

“Nations will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginnings of birth pains.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.”

Pastor Begley said: “So I’m telling you right now, God is with us through it all.

“He said, ‘I’ll never leave you,’ Jesus said, ‘I’ll never leave you, I’ll never forsake you, but I’ll go with you all the way, even to the end of the world.'”

However, the very same chapter of the Bible makes it clear not to try and predict when the end of the world will come.

Jesus said: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, f but only the Father.”
