NeNe Leakes decided to exit Real Housewives of Atlanta and it sounds like she has no regrets. At the same time, even though she thinks she made the right decision not to return for the new season, this doesn’t mean she’s sure she’ll never come back.
Initially, NeNe did not sign the contract when her co-stars did as she was still negotiating her salary with the network.
But, in the end, her decision to leave the reality TV show was not just based on the whole financial part of it.
One insider tells HollywoodLife that it was the right choice for her and explained why NeNe feels that way, monetary gain aside.
‘Nene had an offer on the table, been in long and strenuous negotiations, and she ultimately decided to not return this season to focus on other projects and herself. does not mean she won’t ever return again, but it was the right decision for her to make this season.’
Another source also dished that ‘Nene doesn’t want to be tied to spending all of her time in Atlanta right now. It wasn’t just about the money at all for her, but about business. She’s got her store in the DC area and wants to spend time there and also out west in LA. She did RSVP yes to Cynthia‘s upcoming wedding but she hasn’t decided if she wants to film or not. If she doesn’t sign the release, the ladies won’t even be able to mention her name on camera.’

NeNe Leakes posted a video she titled ‘Listen Closely, I got something to tell you!’ and in it, she explained that after some very emotional negotiations with the network about her contract, she made the choice to leave the show after no less than a decade on it!
