Alex Jones: The One Show host admits ‘I’m actually crying’ on-air 'I'm emotional'

The One Show presenter Alex Jones, 43, revealed she was “crying” on air when BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern joined her on BBC Radio Wales last weekend. The mum-of-two admitted she was “emotional” after the Channel 4 presenter opened up about how far the two of them have come in their careers so far.

It comes after Alex asked Steph all about her new Channel 4 daytime show Steph’s Packed Lunch.

“I have to ask because sometimes you get that sort of ‘pinch me’ moment, and can you believe and did you ever think that you would have a show that was being created around you?

“It makes me really emotional for you,” she continued as she started to choke up on her words before Steph interrupted with: “Oh!”

Alex went on: “Your own studio. It’s really exciting.”

The BBC presenter published her book in 2018 before welcoming her second baby Kit, after her first son, Teddy, was born in 2017.

The topic of Alex’s book came up when actress Helen Lederer, 65, joined her on her show.

She began: “The winner of the unpublished category becomes published, so that’s a dream come true, and the published winner gets dosh and stickers.

“You’ve written a book about parenting haven’t you Alex?”
