TUI slashes holiday prices to 'safe' destinations by up to £650

Though rapidly changing travel corridors might be a cause for concern for some holidaymakers, TUI is encouraging Britons to jet off by slashing the cost of holidays to some “safe” destinations. Package deals to Turkey and Cyprus have been reduced by as much as £650 and £450 respectively.

A seven-night all-inclusive holiday to Turkey’s The Land of Legends rest in Antalya is down from £1,296 per person to £719.

Meanwhile, seven nights at The King Jason in Paphos, Cyprus, is down from £1,301 per person to £568 per person.

However, while Britons are being welcomed to Turkey, Cyprus has put in place strict regulations.

Holidaymakers who hope to venture to the popular hotspot must present a negative coronavirus test on arrival.

However, TUI has also recently been forced to axe holidays to a number of destinations due to swiftly changing travel rules.

Affected nations include Greece and Portugal.

A TUI spokeswoman told Express.co.uk: “Due to the FCDO’s advice against all but essential travel to mainland Portugal, TUI UK has cancelled all holidays to Faro, Portugal up to and including Thursday, September 24 2020.

“We will proactively contact all customers to either arrange a full refund or the option to rebook their holiday with a booking incentive.

“All customers currently on holiday can continue to enjoy their holiday and will return on their intended flight home.

“TUI holidays to Madeira, using our flight partners like easyJet and British Airways, are still operating as planned.”

As for Greece, the spokeswomen added: “e to the FCDO’s advice against all but essential travel to a number of Greek islands, TUI UK has cancelled all holidays from Tuesday, September 8 to the following destinations up to and including Tuesday, September 22, 2020: Santorini, Zante (Zakynthos), Crete (Chania and Heraklion) and Mykonos.

“All impacted customers will be notified and offered the option to amend or cancel and receive a full cash refund.

“In addition, due to the recent positive cases from customers returning from the resorts of Laganas in Zante and Malia in Crete, TUI UK has taken the decision to no longer offer holidays to Laganas or Malia until October 31, 2020.

“All impacted customers will be notified and offered to amend or cancel and receive a full cash refund.”
