Fortnite DOWN: Server status latest as Epic Games shares update on downtime

Fortnite servers are down tonight, Epic Games has confirmed, with the new outage affecting gamers on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

A message from the development team confirms that this is unscheduled downtime and does not provide an ETA on how long it might last.

The message from Epic Games reads: “We’re investigating issues related to kicks and logins. We’ll provide an update when these are resolved.”

It appears that gamers are struggling to access their accounts tonight and are also being ejected from games on live servers.

And when they have been logged out of their account, gamers have found an error message waiting for them, saying they do not have permission to play Fortnite.

One user reports: The game logged me out and said “Your account no longer has play access” What is going?”

Another adds: “I just won an arena match and immediately got kicked off, hope it’s up again soon.”

It’s unclear how long the outage might last, or what might have caused the problems with Fortnite Battle Royale.

The latest update from the Epic Games server site lists the current Fortnite problems as a major outage event.
